Welcome from Fr. Gregory Leif

Welcome to the Church of Sacred Heart website. Sacred Heart is a Roman Catholic Christian Community seeking to serve the Kingdom of God. We believe that the love relationship with God is a life long journey. From the time that children are of school age we offer free tuition in the grade school, opportunities and experiences in junior and senior high and ongoing learning and prayer sessions for men and women of all ages. We believe that every person is given time talent and treasure for the sake of a purpose greater than just themselves. We find that it is also true that we can accomplish more together than alone. As we come together in the Eucharist and Service we come to better understand the calling that we have received from our God. To serve God’s kingdom gives meaning to one’s life.

Cheerful Giving

Cheerful Giving Please consider signing up for AUTO-GIVE

WHY SHOULD I GIVE? Sacred Heart is a great place to be. We continue to work towards making it a life-long place for people to pray, worship, learn and gather...but we can’t do it without financial support from our entire Sacred Heart family!

HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE? Corinthians 9:7 “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Your church obligations should not make you miserable, and don’t look over your shoulder to see what you think you should be giving. Give $1 or $1,000, or whatever feels comfortable. There’s no point in attending church if we use it as an opportunity to judge our neighbors for what they did or didn’t put into the collection basket. And it’s equally counterproductive to judge ourselves. If your child attends Sacred Heart School tuition-free, a suggested donation is $25/week. However, Sacred Heart will graciously accept any donation your family can give cheerfully.

WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO? Donations make up 100% of Sacred Heart’s income. Your support helps us continue programs: Sacred Heart School, Youth Ministry, music during Mass, Faith Formation programs, outreach to the poor and service projects. Your donation also goes to pay the electric bill, the heat bill and repairs and maintenance.

WHY USE AUTO-GIVE? This form makes your gift quick and easy. It also helps Sacred Heart schedule and budget expenses. Whether you are giving $1 or $1,000, please consider signing up for AUTO-GIVE!

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR AUTO-GIVE? Complete the form on the reverse side and submit it to:

• The Sacred Heart School office in an envelope marked “AUTO-GIVE”

• The collection basket at church

• Fax it to 507-833-1498

• Mail or drop off at the parish office: Sacred Heart Church, 111 4th Street NW, Waseca, MN 56093\

Update on Sacred Heart Education Endowment Fund

In January of this year, a Named Fund Policy within the Sacred Heart Education Endowment Fund was established.  A Named Fund begins with a minimum starting balance of $10,000.  Contributions can be made to any Named Fund by the original donor(s) or others.

The Sacred Heart Education Endowment Fund is built from both small and large contributions.  These come from cash donations, memorials, bequest, insurance policies, real estate, investments, and now a Named Fund.  Some families name the endowment for memorials of their loved one.

All contributions are invested and only the annual earnings are given to the parish each year to help with the increasing cost of our educational needs.  Your tax deductible gifts are perpetual.  They continue to give year after year.

Since 1995, the fund has gifted over $1.1 million to our Parish Catholic Education programs  Today we have approximately 2 million dollars in the endowment fund, thanks to the generosity of many people!  An endowment DOES WORK.

When doing your financial or estate planning, please remember the Sacred Heart Education Endowment Fund.

THANK YOU for your continued support.  It is appreciated!
